Columbian Exposition's Fire
The World Columbian Exposition of 1893, largely intended to show the world Chicago's rebirth after the fire two years prior, suffered from several fires, and within nine months following its close, most of the "White City" had been destroyed by fire.

The Saturday Night Fire, 1871
"The Saturday Night Fire," which burned four blocks in Greektown, left 30 of Chicago's 185 fireman injured, and many more exhausted, the day before the Chicago Fire in 1871.
